St. Luke's collects funds each week for the first of the three following local charitable organizations; in addition, parishioners support the work of each with their contributions of time and talents.

St. Luke's supports Watauga County HFH, a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged
The Hunger Coalition is a United Way non-profit agency whose mission is to relieve poverty and hunger on a crisis basis to those in need.
Hospitality House
Hospitality House is a homeless shelter, originally organized through the efforts of many members of the St. Luke's community, including the former rector the Rev. Charles K. Blanck and initially funded mainly through grants from the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina. Hospitality House is now a United Way agency.
