Boone - Boone, North Carolina is located just a mile off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway of northwestern North Carolina. Watauga Democrat - The Watauga Democrat is an independent, tri-weekly newspaper published in Boone, N.C. Established in 1888, it is produced Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and boasts a readership of more than 19,000. It is the only paid-circulation newspaper published in Boone, the seat of Watauga County and home to Appalachian State University, a 12,000-student college.
