The Men’s Group at St. Luke’s welcomes men age 21 and older. We meet on the first Sunday of each month from September through May at 5:30 p.m. Every two or three years, we take a weekend canoe trip on the New River. Each meeting includes a homemade meal provided by 3-4 of the participants and a short program that varies from discussing a book, listening to a guest speaker, sharing our own stories, or planning parish work days or other forms of outreach. A love offering is taken and at the end of each meeting, we decide where the greatest need is for this offering and pass it on.
Beyond the formality of the meetings, we provide a place and space to support one another. It is generally easy for men to do outreach and much harder to do the inner work of personal growth. It is our hope to support relationships that encourage growth and balance.
